The Mason Arms.

The Mason Arms Inn, Trongate had a flea circus to entertain the locals and to attract potencial customers. The circus was owned by Mr S Boverick. The interior room was grand with high ceilings, large draped curtains and plush furnishings. Situated on a table in the middle of the room was a collection of wonderful novelties and magnifying glasses so that the visitor might more easily view the little scratchers.
